Purpleheart (Peltogyne spp.)

Color: Bright violet-purple.

Characteristics: Hard, heavy and finely textured.

Properties: Grain is usually straight often with a fine, curly figure.

Uses: Billiard cues, inlays and other types of woodworking projects. Purpleheart is moderately hard to work with but takes a beautifully glossy and lustrous finish.
