African Mahogany (Khaya ivorensis) Color: Light pink to reddish-brown and tannish-brown in color and although pores are distributed, this wood produces a very distinct, pleasing grain. Characteristics: Relatively hard; works well; highly lustrous; polishes well; durable. Properties: The most lavishly figured Mahogany offered in plain stripe, mottle, fiddleback, fine crotches and faux swirl. This wood is available in great widths and lengths; milder textured with slightly larger pores than other Mahogany species. Uses: African Mahogany is commonly used for interiors, furniture, accessories, art objects, boats, etc. |
