Red Birch (Betula alleghaniensis)

Color: This is the heartwood of Yellow birch. It has a beautiful dark brown color with a shade of red.

Characteristics: The diffuse-porous wood is hard and strong. There is often a wavy or curly figure present.

Properties: Red Birch has very good machining, gluing and finishing qualities. You must pre-bore when screwing or nailing.

Uses: Red Birch is often used for furniture, cabinetry, veneers, joinery, flooring, doors and butcher blocks.
