Walnut (Juglans nigra)

Color: Light grey-brown to dark purplish-brown.

Characteristics: Moderately heavy; very strong for its weight; exceptionally stable.

Properties: Excellent machining and superb finishing qualities. Tree is deciduous, wood ring porous.

Uses: One of the finest all-around woods to work with. Walnut has been a favorite with craftsmen for years and years. Used to manufacture fine furniture, cabinets, millwork, novelties, gunstocks and other types of woodenware.
