Red Oak (Quercus rubra)

Color: Heartwood, reddish to light reddish brown.

Characteristics: Slightly coarser grain, with large, rounded, open pores.

Properties: Red Oak is easy to machine and finish and is traditionally the most popular Hardwood we sell.

Uses: The attractive graining is recognizable in cabinets, furniture, paneling and woodwork. Kiln-dried stock is recommended for interior uses, and Air-dried stock for exterior applications.
